Delete your account

You can delete your Breathaway account and the data attached to it at any time — from inside the app, or by asking us. No forms, no phone calls.

From inside the app

  1. Open the Breathaway app and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Account, then Delete account.
  3. Confirm. Your account is closed immediately.

By email

If you can no longer sign in, write to hello@breathaway.app from the address associated with your account, or include the phone number you signed up with. We will verify the request and delete the account without undue delay, and in any case within one month.

The same address handles every other data request: a copy of your data, a correction, or withdrawal of consent. You can also ask us to erase details someone else entered about you, even if you have never had an account.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and profile details, including your phone number.
  • Contact identifiers you entered, such as phone numbers or social handles.
  • Your app settings and notification preferences.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Records we are required to keep by law, such as purchase and tax records, for the period the law requires.
  • Aggregated, non-identifying analytics that cannot be linked back to you.
  • Encrypted backups, which are overwritten on a rolling [backup period] cycle.

Your rights

Erasure is a right, not a favour. Under the EU and UK GDPR you have the right to erasure, along with rights of access, rectification, restriction, objection and portability. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to correction and erasure (s. 12), the right to grievance redressal (s. 13), and the right to nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated (s. 14). We erase personal data once you withdraw consent or the purpose it was collected for is no longer served, unless the law requires us to keep it.

If you are unhappy with how we handle a request, write to us first at hello@breathaway.app. If we cannot resolve it, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local supervisory authority in the EEA or the UK.

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings before you delete, so you are not billed again. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
